Karen & I rode our bikes to Titusville on Thursday to watch the Orion Rocket Launch. As you likely know, Orion is the ship planned to transport people to Mars. The first trial launch a few months ago in Virginia BLEW UP. Anyway, Thursday’s launch was scrubbed due to combination of technical issues and weather.
BUT as you will see, the SKY Was BRILLIANT WITH AMAZING COLORS! — A sight to see!
The next day, Friday the 5th, the Launch took place without a hitch, right on time near 7AM but that launch was not as great to see due to the cloud cover, though “any launch is a great launch”! Funny, but as we rode our bikes Friday too, we happened upon no rain. We parked at our usual spot, and just as we stopped, the rain started. There was a sheltered overhand we stood under for maybe 3-5 minutes, then moments before the 7 o’clock launch schedule, the rain stopped. Less than 5 minutes later, up went the rocket. It disappeared so quickly into the clouds, then appeared for a few seconds only to be gone again. The sound and feeling of the sound hitting one’s body was great. That lasted for minutes.
We shortly hopped onto our bikes and a great ride home, stopping at an open air 7 days a week vegetable and food operation. Dinner Was GREAT; MMMMMMM.
Yes, enjoy the SKY! Wish you had been there!
