Biology’s ‘dark matter’ hints at fourth domain of life – life – 18 March 2011 – New Scientist.

Ahhh – finally catching up to my thoughts: I have said and written that I believe that much more “is alive” than any of our “measurements” so far detect! And I am not talking about “just discovering what is in the ocean, on land or for that matter on other planets (as we commonly think to define “alive”). I believe that possibly our earth itself might be, the galaxy too. Think of a flea on an elephant. Because of size differences, the flea does not realize the elephant is a living creature, just as the elephant does not feel or detect the flea.

Just as most science is beginning to realize that “just because you can’t see it, it still might be there”, we have little or no ways to detect what is living – just not in mere human ways or ways of thought.
